The popular blockchain game Farm Frens, which operates on Ethereum’s layer-2 network, Base, has recently faced significant technical issues with the launch of its native token, FREN.
The project, known for its engaging gameplay and community-driven approach, has acknowledged the challenges and outlined plans to address them to regain the trust of its players and investors.
Farm Frens Exits Telegram
The token was initially intended to be distributed to eligible users based on a snapshot taken on January 20th. However, the Farm Frens team encountered widespread technical difficulties across all aspects of the Token Generation Event (TGE). These issues included problems with token allocation, receipt, staking, and a new mechanism called Frensurance, which was designed to impose a tax on airdrop transfers.
Kaizen, the anonymous founder of the project, explained that the main issues revolved around the distribution of tokens, with some users unable to receive their tokens as intended. The team had planned to cover the gas fees for all airdrop recipients, but testing on the mainnet was slower than anticipated, leading to errors.
In response to these challenges, Farm Frens has announced that the issues have been resolved and has set up a support form for users still experiencing problems. Kaizen emphasized that the problems were not intentional and apologized to the community for the technical difficulties.
The initial token launch was scheduled for January but was postponed following Telegram’s exclusive partnership with the TON network. This agreement mandated that all blockchain-based games or applications on Telegram must migrate to the TON network. As a result, Farm Frens revised its roadmap and decided to develop a standalone wallet and expand to other platforms, including the popular Japanese messaging app, Line.
Looking ahead, Farm Frens plans to launch a new in-game content season in the second quarter of the year. This move to Line and other platforms is part of the project’s strategy to diversify its presence and reach a broader audience.
Meanwhile, the price of the FREN token has seen a 4.5% decrease in the past 24 hours, dropping to $0.000003746. The market capitalization of FREN has also fallen to $1.57 million, reflecting the recent challenges and market sentiment.
The transition from Telegram to Line and other platforms marks a significant shift for Farm Frens, as it seeks to navigate the complexities of the blockchain gaming landscape and overcome the hurdles it has faced. The project’s ability to adapt and innovate will be crucial in determining its future success and maintaining its community’s support.
